Sculptra® Aesthetic is a long lasting, synthetic injectable material, known as "poly-L-lactic acid", a biocompatible, biodegradable substance that has been widely used for many years in dissolvable stitches, soft tissue implants and other types of implants. It is used to restore volume in areas of fat loss on the face. When we experience this fat loss, our skin can sag, look more wrinkled and sometimes give our cheeks a sunken-in look. Sculptra® is injected below the surface of the skin in these areas, and over time provides an increase in skin thickness. Visible results appear within the first few treatment sessions.
